Susan was born in North Vancouver, B.C., Canada and as a young child her parents moved to San Fransisco where her father worked for IBM. Her family returned to Vancouver where Susan attended school. After high school graduation she went into education and graduated from the University of British Columbia as a high school teacher. She taught in the BC public school system for a few years, taught English in Japan for 3.5 years and taught in private colleges/universities in Canada and the United States.
Susan returned to sunny California to pursue her Masters degree in educational leadership and while living there she taught English classes and worked as the assistant coordinator of San Diego State University American Language Institute. After returning to Vancouver she worked as a marketing manager of an ESL college recruiting students and loved the job because it allowed her to travel through South America and Asia on marketing trips. In 2002 Susan and her husband adopted a baby from China and shortly after gave birth to a second baby. School is Easy was founded when Susan decided to stay home and start a tutoring business. It grew quickly and by 2009 she began franchising across Canada. In 2017 School is Easy was acquired by Launchlife International. Launchlife has added a ‘state of the art’ management system and a new app for on demand tutoring which supports our skill building tutoring programs. Susan says, “I love being part of a bigger network and am enjoying the support and connectedness of the School is Easy team. I enjoy seeing School is Easy grow and add locations across North America and Europe.”
