Improve Your SAT Score With Our Private Tutors
At School is Easy, we’re dedicated to helping every student achieve their potential.
Our tutors understand that test-taking can be difficult, especially on challenging college entrance exams like the ACT. That’s why we focus on a comprehensive teaching strategy that gives students the tools they need to improve their scores, build confidence, reduce test anxiety, and achieve their academic goals in both high school and college.
A large number of students across the United States and around the world take the SAT every year. It is a popular standardized test for many graduating seniors in Iowa and is often the biggest challenge college-bound students face in the admission process.
Let’s be clear: The SAT isn’t an easy exam. In fact, SAT scores have been declining nationwide in recent years.
Why, then, do our students still see incredible results year after year – often improving by 400 points or more and gaining admission into top-tier universities?
It’s simple. When you book private instruction through School is Easy, you’re not only getting a qualified, experienced tutor to help your child succeed but also helping your student gain confidence, knowledge, and experience that will set them up on the path to success well into the future.
It all starts with a higher score on their next SAT exam.
What Students and Parents Must Know About the SAT
The SAT is the most popular college entrance exam, taken by over 2 million students nationwide. Students have seven opportunities to take the SAT each year. Juniors and seniors normally sit the exam at some point in the semester, though SAT prep starts as early as the ninth grade.
The SAT has 3 sections: Evidence-based Reading and Writing, Mathematics, and an optional Essay Writing component. Each section is designed to test students on topics relevant to their high school classes.
Because the SAT is so comprehensive, many students struggle over the course of the 3 hour and 50 minute exam.
Each section is scored out of 800 points, while the essay is assessed separately. The average score in 2018 was 1068.
Many students choose to take the SAT exam multiple times, including beginning with the PSAT, a practice version of the exam. While continued review always helps, there is one time-tested strategy for improving scores and raising college acceptance odds: private, in-person SAT prep tutoring.
Great Tutors, Great SAT Scores: The Difference We Make
Each student approaches test-taking differently. Some excel in the calculator sections of Math but struggle with non-calculator questions. Others shine in multiple-choice grammar questions but face challenges when it comes to writing essays.
This is where School is Easy’s dedicated tutors come into play and make a significant difference. We take the time to understand your student’s unique needs and tailor a personalized success plan. When your child knows their requirements are being addressed, they’ll experience remarkable score improvements in just a few sessions, ultimately leading to higher performance on the day of the exam. We also offer the option of private SAT tutoring online at select locations.
This is the transformative impact of a private tutor. Unlike group classes or at-home courses, private tutoring provides the essential positive feedback and encouragement that students need to strive for success. Our personal SAT tutors are dedicated to bringing out the best in your child and ensuring they perform at their highest potential.
The results are borne out in the data. Long-term studies have shown group classes and courses to be ineffective in raising SAT scores – while private, personalized instruction makes a considerable difference in scores.
At School is Easy, we take things even further with our targeted learning approach: The Five-Step SAT Improvement System.
Your 5 Steps To A Stellar SAT
When it comes to SAT tutoring, our instructors know personalized, individual lessons work best. That’s why this system isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our tutors follow the process to show each student how they can improve while developing strategies unique to each student.
With clear, structured sessions, your child will understand how they’re improving alongside their tutor’s guidance. Our five-step system is as much about building confidence as it is about improving grades.
The system, from start to finish, is below.
The Pre-Assessment. After a practice exam, your student will know his or her strengths and weaknesses in each individual section. Our experienced tutor will help explain how to improve in these sections while giving proper feedback on the test as a whole. Positivity is key, and we always strive to build confidence while we improve test scores.
Individual Tutoring. In one-on-one sessions, each tutor helps their student see where easy improvements can be made quickly, along with which subjects need more in-depth instruction. We know from experience that every child can improve their SAT scores, and our careful approach ensures your future graduate is college-ready well before the test date.
Progress Monitoring. Students are encouraged to bring any questions or concerns they may have directly to their tutor for immediate help. As the student continues to work on practice tests, our tutors review scores and mistakes to help them continually improve.
Personalized Guidance. Test-taking isn’t just about knowing the answers. SAT-day anxiety, test-taking stamina, and writing skills are all a part of our holistic approach to learning. Your student will feel more confident knowing they’re getting the needed attention often missing in the classroom.
Increased Scores. With the above steps completed successfully, your child can look forward to improved scores – not just on the SAT, but on college exams as well as any result-oriented assessment in their bright future.
