Ever since Wayne was seven years old and he bought bulk candy, portioned it up into packages and sold them to fellow classmates he knew that he was an entrepreneur. Wayne grew up in the BC Fraser Valley and started out with mobile food concessions and food trucks when he was 18.
In 1999 Wayne, his wife Carmell and their two girls moved to Lacombe Alberta and bought a small pizza shop. Within 5 years Wayne had built up the business to the point where they had to move to a larger location to keep up with the demand. In 2007 Wayne ran for and was elected to Lacombe City council and gave back to his community through that position for 10 years. In between running a business and being involved with city council Wayne also opened up a video rental business. In 2013 Wayne received an offer to purchase his businesses and decided it was a good time to sell.
After selling the businesses Wayne decided he wanted to put what he had learnt running a business into practice by selling vehicles. Wayne worked for the local Ford dealership for 4 years and made many friends while selling vehicles to people from all over Central Alberta. He then helped run the local Subway franchise as well as helped build up the Red Deer Magnetsigns franchise. Just over two and a half years ago Wayne was recruited to lead the team at the MR MIKES Steakhouse in Red Deer. Since being their they have won Restaurant of the year, the sales growth award and have earned the highest score in franchise history for their Steritech inspection.
Over the last 12 years Wayne has also written for Pizza Marketing Quarterly (PMQ) Canadian pizza Magazine, Pizza Today and has done numerous educational seminars for the Las Vegas Pizza Expo. The most requested subjects are on marketing, social media, employee motivation and guest satisfaction.
Wayne has a passion for giving back and teaching others. Because he struggled in school and knows firsthand how it feels as a child to not want to go to school because of the fear of not understanding the curriculum he knew this franchise is needed and would be something that could change the life of a student.
