At School is Easy, we recognize that every child has very individual and specific needs. Because of this, we treat each case differently. We don’t make recommendations until the tutor has spent time with the student and knows them well. This way, our tutors are able to use the most effective teaching methods for your child. This is especially true when it comes to tutoring Autistic children or addressing other special education needs outside the classroom.
Give your child personalized instruction to help them learn best
Our teachers create curriculum-based unit plans, which are then broken down into lesson plans. These lesson plans detail the objectives, goals, and a flexible timeline of when your child will learn each item. As your child goes through their personalized autism tutoring, the tutor maintains communication with you by continually reporting the achievements of each goal to you. This one-on-one instruction is especially beneficial to autistic students, whose unique learning styles cannot always be addressed in a regular class of 20-30 students. This way, your child can excel by receiving particular teaching methods that are effective for autistic students specifically.
Receive the best special ed tutoring techniques and up to date training
For our autism tutoring services in Vancouver, we have recruited certified teachers with a special education concentration. Since these teachers have chosen special education as their career, they are fully equipped to provide your child with the best education and learning experience outside the classroom. Our tutors are trained to recognize your child’s learning abilities, so if your child seems to do well in a group, we’ll pick up on that and talk to you about a social learning path. In addition, our teachers are not only very knowledgeable, but are extremely passionate about what they do. So you can trust that your child is in the very best hands. Our autism tutors continually pursue professional development. They keep up to date on the latest research and techniques for helping autistic children learn.
Trust our extensive experience in special ed tutoring
School is Easy Tutoring began offering autism tutoring in 2002. Since then, our number of autistic students has increased every year. Our parents trust us, and the proof is in the pudding- we get referrals from many different families!
We understand the importance of autism tutoring, so you can rely on us to take care of your child with the utmost care and respect
Our director was inspired to start offering autism tutoring services after experiencing autism in her extended family and other various people in her life. In addition to this, we recognize that autism is on the rise. According to Autism Speaks, approximately 1 in 68 children are identified as being on the autism spectrum, and prevalence rates increase 10-17 percent each year. And while autistic children share common characteristics, like social challenges, communication difficulties, and repetitive behaviours, we realize that no two individuals are the same. This is why tutoring can be so beneficial to children with autism. They get instruction that is completely personalized for them, not just following a general model.
We utilize any Individualized Education Plan (IEP) your child has from school to enhance and build upon what they learn in school. This way, there are no gaps!
Identified autistic children have an IEP from school, which outlines any learning expectations that differ from those given in the curriculum. This is a very informative document that can be very helpful in figuring out what kind of tutoring is best for your child. At School is Easy, we encourage parents to give their tutor as much information as possible so that we can provide your child with the most effective tutoring. Utilizing your child’s IEP also helps make your child’s tutoring experience even more personalized.
Funding from the government makes our services even more accessible
According to the Ministry of Child Family and Development, if your child is between the ages of 6 and 18 their autism funds can go towards out-of-school tutoring. If you have not applied for autism funds for your child, you should contact your local Ministry of Children and Family Development office to complete a funding agreement.
